Bacone’s recently revitalized Black Student Society plans a special Bacone Hour on Tuesday in honor of Black History Month, as well as two more special events in the next couple of weeks.
BSS President Le’Kendric Harmon said Tuesday’s Bacone Hour will include special guests to speak to the students and special performers.
Additionally, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 and on Sunday, Feb. 16, the Black Student Society will host Sunday night praise and worship with a soul food dinner.
Harmon said all students are welcome to join the Black Student Society and participate.
“We want to be the people in charge of representing the black student body, have some type of fun, create some type of movement around campus,” Harmon said.
Harmon said the group hopes to leave a lasting impression for future African-American students at Bacone College.
“Our organization has a common goal with all others on campus - to reach out and involve the students in this community, and create bonds for the future,” he said.
